Wonderful. What kind of fish do you catch from the lake? Stripers (not to be confused with strippers) a.k.a. rockfish are a lot smaller than their cousins on the atlantic ocean. they don't give much of a fight either.
see attachment. 1st pix is a very small ocean rockfish.

2nd pix is what Lake Anna people think is a big fish. there is at least 10 lbs. difference. i will look for my 120 lbs sail fish caugth off Costa Rica Pacific Ocean. you'll be impressed then

3rd picture is a small gt off Fiji Pacific waters. those rascal would really put up a fight.

i will tell Jim about fishing. he will be excited.

[slhs_fiftyniners] REUNION

Dear Fellow Fiftyniners

Reading all you emails which totaled to almost 200 hundred has given my glaucomic eyes a lot of difficulty but insurmountable pleasure. The excitement builds up as more and more classmates board the SLHS INTERGALACTIC website, looking at “old” familiar faces and reading about your family as well as personal adventures.

Rol - I sure am glad to see you now actively take part in this 59niners email mania. Your picture with Jimmy shows the life was kind to you despite your loss of Monica. Jimmy mentioned that you and your wife are coming to the Philippines next month. If you do plan to push through next month please try to make it before the 21st of March. But I am sure it will be more fun to have you come on December for the Golden Jubilee Reunion. Hey keep fueling in the SLHS ship with your emails.

Jean “naggabuatan nu wayi. Mapya se nanlawan kan se awan makasapit mi si gadding. Samparekkol! Nakilyawan kun a itundok sikwan. Natamfutin imangke yo gadding ko. (Please translate na lang for those who wants to know what said. All the while I thought you were the one referred to by the Dungaw Boys.

Escil the email address of Lina was correctly written by Lydia. Hope Lina has already emailed last night as she promised. She must be busy practicing her ballroom dancing steps while making her famous langoniza which Lydia loves so much. Just incase she hasn’t emailed yet here is her email address rpurificacion@yahoo.com.

As for the Ifugao dance don’t worry. You shall appear very elegant wearing the native Ifugao tapis and a white chiffon white long sleeves with altar boys in their G-strings. I am sure the G-STRINGGED ALTAR BOYS WON’T TRIGGER A NEED FOR CPR.

YES ROL I remember Ben Sanchez, If you remember the GREAT BAPTIZER the late SATUR CASTRO CALLED BEN – “PULLAT” ROGELIO LIANTADA (Deceased) UkONG, DOMINGO GASCON “DANGOL” AND FAUSTINO LACAMENTO “JAP”.

For your information we have a total collection of Php26,500.00 currently deposited at our PNB account in the name of Roger Tiongson and Remedios Bangad Bambalan. Hope we can have your pledges as Nestor mentioned by summer this year. What do you think Nestor.

The St.Louis Gym groundworks have been started. Please help us solicit for this Jubilee Gym in time for next year’s St.Louis 75th year Anniversary.

CLASS 59 GOLDEN JUBILEE

On February 16, Rey and I drove to Solano via the Concepcion, La Paz - Talavera Road to avoid the usual traffic at the Sta.Rita – Baliuag Gapan – Cabanatuan Road.

After checking at the Balai ni Oyah we immediately embarked on a hunt of our classmates. We started with Lucio Galapon who had to be bribed with a bagfull of clothes and two bottles of wine by Rey to drag him away from his wife’s sick-bed. We planned to visit Paulino Bolusan passing thru P.D. Galima to visit Avelina Molina Domingo who reside in their farm. The Baranggay Road we passed thru between rice fields scared Rey. The one way road was barely enough for Rey’s C.R.V. Adding to Rey’s consternation was Lucio’s sequestration of Rey’s favorite baseball cap because it was raining when we walked to Avelino’s house.

Mr.Domingo met us and told us that Avelina already left for the 6:00 p.m. meeting at Chowking.
Lucio said that we had another classmate by the name of Emiliano Dagdag who lived in nearby Barrio Mapaina. We had to brave the rugged, narrow dirt road to get to Mapaina meeting several Kuliglig’s which Rey parried on the road only to be informed the Emiliano does not live there anymore.

From Mapaina we exited to the BASCARAN Road to get to AGGUB to visit INO BOLUSAN. We found INO sitting looking sick and pitiful. He barely recognized me and Boy (Rey) only to smile when Rey gifted him with a bag full of signature shirts and two bottles of wine. INO is suffering from Prostate Cancer. We only hope he can still make it to our December 29 GOLDEN JUBILEE REUNION.

CHOWKING MEETING
On the way back to Solano we fetched Ambong Diego who was sleeping when we got to Yogad. He was brave enough to come with us despite his Emphysema just to meet our classmates.
Roger Tiongson, Jimmy Magalued, Lina Tiongson Purificacion, Feliciano Castillo Duro, Lily Antonio Fariñas, Remedios Bangad Bambalan, Josefina Dee Cerallos, Perlita Doles Flores, Carmen Pacis Casamonte, Avelina Molina Domingo, Lucita Ursua Villaserna joined me, Rey, Ambong and Lucio at the Chowking where Rey hosted the dinner. Sixteen of us were there.

Individual pictures of those who came were taken and we intend to send you copies thru email so you will try to recognize our classmates in their present appearances. With the exception of the boys, Rey was not able to recognize all the girls except for Chatterbug Feliciano Castillo.

March 21, 2009 – We advanced the meeting date from March 28, 2009 for two reasons.
1st – March 21 was our graduation day in 1959.
2nd Several classmates could not come on the 28th.
The March 21, 2009 meeting will still be held at the BALAI NI OYANG starting at 10:00 a.m.
To encourage attendance – no payments will be required courtesy of Rey Miranda who shelled out Php25,000.00 to cover the cost of the March 21 affair.

ATTIRE : CASUAL

The Lunch – Merienda meeting shall be interspersed with hourly raffle where Php500.00 per hour will be raffled plus other prizes which will be solicited for the affair.

KARAOKE SINGING, BALLROOM DANCING AND PARLOR GAMES will highlight the day.
As of our last count we have the commitment of 28 classmates. We are aiming for 35 to attend the March 21, 2009 “ GRADUATION BALL ANNIVERSARY”.

DECEMBER 29 Highlights
The group agreed to collect a minimum of Php1,500.00 from each member of the class to cover the 2 T-shirts and food for the December 29, 2009.

Boy proposed that during the motorcade, all of the Class 59 member ride in one (1) Bus to promote better acquaintance among ourselves who may have forgotten each other due to weathered faces and ageing.

Sidelights of our Chowking
- Would you believe that several classmates have never been to Chowking –
kaya they don’t know how or what – to order.
- Male idol of Class 59 Ambong Diego. He has four (4) children with four (4)
mothers. Can you beat that George and Pol.
- That Roy who made a disappearing act last year is finally back in
circulation working for the “Obama of the Philippines.” He is busy
organizing community based boy scouts. What we don’t know is if that
includes boy scout na babae.
Are you aware that of 50 ladies, 11 of our classmates and of 38,
5 of our male classmates have already gone ahead.
Please furnish us your birthdates. We are looking for the youngest and
oldest member of our class. Those without Senior Citizens Cards are
disqualified. They are fakes.

Welcome Linda for having joined the crazy bunch of 59ers you surely are fresh wind to the polluted environment of emailers. Be on line more often.

Here’s the picture taken in 1963 during the despedida of Escil in Solano. Please identify these guys in your next email to us.

See You on March 21, 2009!!!

Hi folks!!!! Lets get back to business. Just came back from the past(50 yrs). After 10 yrs of not coming home, driving in and out thru Bangan Hill, Bayombong with Lawrence was like going in and out of a Time Machine. Twilight Zone? Whatever, it gave me the butterflies.

Mission accomplished. We are all set for the affair on 21 March. Invitations had been distributed. 24 are confirmed attending. Expecting 30 comes D-Day.Olive is in. Roger had already opened an account at PNB Solano (Savings Acct.193186700034)

Sixteen of us met at Chow King(big deal). It was a riot and as you said Led, it was again all Feliciana. I promised to give her a used cellphone if she she behaves in March. Lawrence will email you of what transpired. Also pictures. Also a blow by blow account of our 3 days trip to Solano and nostalgia.

I have to insist on a dress code comes Dec.They can't wear plunging coz nothing can hold it above the waist. They can't bare their backs because of the scapulars.

Keep on talking guys so I will know where to send the bills. A condo at Eastwood (Nes), a condo at Makati (Linda) , 1/3 of $1.8 M WOW!!!!that can buy Roger 2 Jubilee gyms. Seriously , let us not forget our plans to help our classmates. Brought Inong B. some red wines and signature used clothings in Aggub. He was happy to see us. He got the big C.(Prostate) Boys better have those PSA checked.

Guys, I have to get off the grapevine for a while. Been a week of fast pace and it knocked me off my comfort zone. I am going back to retirement mode in Tagaytay(no computers, won't even read the papers)to just be with the wife, Max (a Labrador) and my golf game(There goes Sadat's answer to Golda, George). Don't worry, you have your pc, I have my cp(the phil is the texting capital of the world).I will be calling Lawrence & Roger for updates.

Dear Classmates. The ball is now in your court. Please don't freeze it.

Luv u all.

The Coming Golden Jubilee Reunion

Further to Lawrence's call for pictures, here's Escil and husband Jim Gaines.

Re: [slhs_fiftyniners] "dungaw" from her window

From:
To:slhs_fiftyniners@yahoogroups.com

Hello Dear 59ners,
Boy and I just had a meeting over lunch after unloading our thoughts by knocking d0wn golf balls at the Camp Aguinaldo driving range. We talked about the upcoming March Get Together or what he prefers to call our long overdue GRADUATION BALL.Most probably we may advance the March 28 ball toan earlier date. I shall inform you when we have the definite date when we talk to our Solano based classmates on Monday evening.
Escil you may have entered a maze by trying to solve the puzzle of the "dungaw" petite lady at the convent. For all you know they may be referring to sister Gregory or Sister Matilde who tried to convince my parents to make me go to the seminary. We hope to get individual pictures of those who will join us on Monday so I can forward them to you. Likewise I would like to get all your pictures on the internet so we can show them to our classmates here. On our latest count we have identified a total of 30 who are sure to attend our Golden Jubilee Celebration. We hope we can double this number come December. If each of the 30 we identified can yake care of making sure that he or she takes care of one classmate we hope to achieve our goal.
The suggestion to have a hook up with you there will be studied. We have many constraints to consider such as internet facilities, web cam and technical expertise and the cost. One thing we can assure you is that you will know everything that will transpire including the dancers of tango, boogie, mash potato, shimmy-shimmy foxtrot, itik-itik, pandango sa ilaw, tinikling ang Escil's special dance from Kiangan, the Ifugao dance. Suggest you start polishing you favorite dance steps and your favorite Karaoke bar songs to add to George's parlor games.
